Local League 2017-2018 (NOTL Hockey)

PrintLocal League 2017-2018

Welcome to the 2016/17 Season of NOTL Wolves Hockey.

Preskates and Tryouts are underway so that means LL or House League is ready to start. Saturday September 17 is the start of Evaluation skates for most divisions as well as the start of Hockey School.

My name is Phil Leboudec and I will be the LL Convenor for this season. Your first point of contact will be your coaches. If they are unable to assist with your questions please feel free to contact me.

Ice times are being posted on the website so please log on and have a look on a regular basis for updates.  You can also select to be notified by email for changes to your team’s schedules.

This year “potentially” have the following teams for NOTL LL

(not final yet)

3 Teams- Tyke #1 , Tyke #2 and Tyke #3

3 Teams- Novice #1, Novice #2 and Novice #3

2 Teams- Atom LL

Team- Peewee LL- TBD -

1 Team- Bantam #1

Team- Midget LL- See attached file for ice times

Coaching staff is still being finalized as registration seems to be coming in more last minute this year. If you have not registered your child on the Hockey Canada website yet for this season please do it ASAP. This must be done yearly. Payment is not the same as Registration.

Attached you will find the ice schedule for the next week. For divisions with only 1 team, ice times will be practice. For divisions with 2 teams these will be evaluation skates. Tyke and Novice are large groups and will be split over 2 ice times. Player list and time slots for Tyke/ Novice (see Attached).

Coaches will participate in a player draft to select teams in the coming weeks. Team practices will likely start after Sunday September 24. The regular season will begin right after Thanksgiving weekend. We have in the past had games scheduled on Thanksgiving weekend so be prepared.

Just a note on team selections,

While we appreciate the desire of our kids to play with their friends, the priority of our Association is Player Development and Team Balancing. Requests may be submitted and will be taken to the draft. All requests will be considered during team selections but please be aware that not all requests can be accommodated.

Also, if you have not completed the “Parents Respect in Sports” course your child will not be able to be rostered to a team and therefore will not be allowed to play. Don’t put it off. Details for the course can be found on our website.

The start of the season is very hectic, updates and changes occur daily.

Looking forward to a great season of NOTL Hockey. Thanks in advance to all Coaches and Parents for all you do to support our kids!

Respectfully,

Phil Leboudec
